The Saltonstall School is a special place in which to learn. Here, we have multi-age classes. Students are with the same teacher for two years. Students get to know their teachers and they get to know us. Plus, because students are in the same classroom for two years, students help one another learn. During his time at Saltonstall, Diego has been actively involved in the following: - Creation of an skills based intervention program for students in the 5th and 6th grade- Implementation of assessments and tracking programs which inform teaching practices - Coordination of field trips for students in Salem and the greater Boston area- Engagement with the community and families in and outside of school - The design and execution of a standards based curricula

Teach For America (TFA) is an American nonprofit organization whose stated mission is to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting high-achieving recent college graduates and professionals to teach for at least two years in low-income communities throughout the United States. In addition to teaching during his time with Teach for America, Diego was involved with the Sponsor A Teacher program, the TFA Homegrown Initiative, and has planned or worked with other individuals to put on events for Corps members in the program. Beginning in Fall 2017, Diego will sit on the TFA Alumni Board. In this role he will continue to advocate on behalf of the current Corps members, alumni and friends in order to support the organization and its mission.

INTERNATIONAL POLICY DIFFUSION AND FEMALE ATHLETESDescription:Diego is an undergraduate research assistant helping to build a dataset regarding the current number (and competitive backgrounds) of international female athletes competing at American universities. The data collected will inform an ongoing research agenda regarding Title IX and college athletics, as well as comparative gender equity sports policy. The work will consist of online research and database creation and management through Excel.

Assisted the class of 2017 and 2018 with the transition to UMass Amherst.Helped schedule classes for incoming freshman and transfer students. Led tours and provided detailed information about UMass life and the resources offered.

Diego is an assistant to the Director of Publicity and Fundraising as well as the Social Media Coordinator. In these roles he is responsible for the following: - Public outreach for department events. - Managing social media including Facebook, Twitter & our website umass.edu/music. - Preparing weekly reports and data analysis to track results of the social media strategy, and other marketing efforts.- Working with the Marketing Director to implement new initiatives.

Diego raised money for UMass Amherst by calling donors and sharing with them the status of the university. He answered questions, and asked them to support one of the best public research universities in the nation. Go UMass!

The following is a description of the primary duties required of Diego during his time with the Senator. Assist Senate Staff with various constituent services- Information gathering telephone, internet, meetings (Issues)- Writing letters of recommendation for schools, jobs, etc. - Writing letters of support for funding (Grants)Assist Senate Staff with various legislative functions- Legislative research- Initial drafting- Functions related to Caucus and SessionThe following is a description of the secondary duties required of Diego during his time as an intern. - Answer and transfer telephone calls to appropriate staff- General filing- Copy and scan documents. During his time Diego also did research on the Boston Olympic Commission. He also was trained to use the Social Law library in the John Adams Courthouse.

For the past two years, Diego has worked as a seasonal worker for Nordstrom Rack during the winter holidays. Diego has worked in all different departments at the store ranging from the customer service line to shoes. Lauded for his hard work and dedication to the store, Diego is frequently asked to take on more responsibility such as working an department by himself or helping the new seasonal workers with tips on how to be the best employee they can be.

Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.

Located in the beautiful Gilmanton IW, NH, Griswold Scout Reservation has served as the premier summer scouting experience for the Daniel Webster Council. During the summer of 2012 Diego served as a commissioner. He was charged with ensuring camp safety and also to assist units every week in camp. In addition to his commissioner duties, Diego was also asked to serve as the interim Dining Hall Steward at Gilbert Hall.
