Mr. Diego Fuentes is Chairman & CEO of TOURISM OPTIMIZER PLATFORM - TOP, a highly specialized project and Affiliate Member of the UNWTO. As an expert in Governmental and Institutional Travel, Diego has identified and defined a new concept within the Tourism Industry, known today “Governmental and Institutional Travel and Tourism” (GITT). He is leading the TOP project, with the sole purpose of professionalizing and standardizing this sector, through the creation of the international GITT Standard. Within this project, Diego has created the first Institute to provide training to all stakeholders involved in this new sector, as well as support tools that compose GITT´s technological ecosystem.Prior to TOP, Diego spent over 15 years providing travel services to Government Delegations, Presidents, First Ladies and other officials worldwide. Since 2014, Diego has appeared as a speaker in various universities and events related to tourism and more specifically this new niche within the industry – GITT.He studied Business Administration in the University of Sevilla. After many years dedicated to the financial industry, he eventually discovered his passion within the Tourism field consulting for tourism operators, group travel providers and destination management companies. He continues to look for ways to contribute to Tourism sustainability.
