My 8-week university internship at the Burton Street Foundation found itself broken into two parts:Under my communications role, I did the following:- Complete a one day First Aid training course.- Speak to staff and service users about the services provided to gain a greater understanding in order to write content to make up the new website.- Analyse the websites of similar service providers to create an audit of what I liked and didn't like about their website. This assisted with the designing of the new website.- Outreach to local businesses to gain raffle donations to be used for a carnival which another intern and I organised. The carnival was a celebration of BSF's work and had to be organised in a way that was inclusive for all the varying needs and regulations of the service users. - Organising for BSF to take part in local community events such as Owls in the Park and planning the activities that we would provide that day.Under my support worker role, I did the following:- Help to plan and prepare for sessions such as 'Film Club' in which service users would record themselves using a green screen as well as assisting them with using video editing software to create short films.- Support service users across a wide range of sessions, as well as day trips outside of the BSF site.- Due to enjoying support work and building strong relationships with clients, I began to work with children with additional needs at BSF on Saturdays. This included going on day trips to swimming pools and farms etc.

I was given the responsibility of account handling for the European Club Association. This aided my development of essential communication skills across a multitude of platforms to liaise with both the developers and client to resolve any issues that the ECA experienced. For this role I had to be confident and assertive to maintain a professional relationship between the agency and the client.I demonstrated substantial interpersonal skills when communicating with clients such as Aggregate Industries and Guide Dogs Charity during meetings to pitch ideas and discuss future marketing campaigns, having to acknowledge multiple opinions in order to reach a conclusion that everyone is happy with. I was tasked with creating a client satisfaction report to gain feedback from clients. I then analysed the data from the reports to create a presentation to feedback to the CEO to highlight areas that we were able to improve in.Showed initiative when choosing appropriate content to create Twitter and Facebook posts for clients such as NHS Blood Donation, UKTI and DFDS.Given the responsibility of independently leading and managing a team of 15 temporary staff over a period of six weeks to complete a website sign up task for UK Trade & Investment. We worked to a strict deadline, greatly exceeding the sign up targets set.I worked alongside project management for two months, using content management systems such as Umbraco and EpiServer to build websites as well as testing and logging issues.After collecting years' worth of agency work, I launched an online database displaying twentysix's work which was used as a tool when pitching to potential new clients.I spent three months working within the analytics team, analysing search engine optimisation data and working on a campaign for Direct Golf.Individually conducted research on twentysix’s 100 employees and collected agency data and client feedback to gain a listing on American digital marketing directory, Clutch.co.
