I am a rising 3L at the University of Miami School of Law. I was born in Boca Raton, FL, and am happy to be back in South Florida studying law after a career as a television journalist. In law school, I have received awards for my legal writing and trial advocacy. I have also gotten a rich professional experience by interning for a state public defender, externing for a federal judge, and working as a professor’s research assistant. On campus, I am a Senior Notes & Comments Editor on the University of Miami Law Review. Before law school, I worked as a journalist in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Florida. I covered the state legislature in Oklahoma, where I was based in the Capitol during session. I also covered high-profile cases in the state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. Besides law and politics, I also covered breaking news, crime, weather, and just about everything in-between. I learned valuable skills as a journalist, including being able to write clearly, deal with all kinds of people, and stay calm under immense pressure and tight deadlines.
