I am a Research Assistant for Prof. Jill Barton focusing on legal writing best practices and techniques.

I was a Judicial Intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Ryon M. McCabe during Fall 2023. In this role, I conducted legal research and drafted substantive orders and R&R's on various types of motions. I also observed and assisted with settlement conferences.

Assisted attorneys in preparing for trial. Met with clients to discuss cases and deliver evidence. Researched discovery and case law to write memoranda for attorneys. Attended and assisted with depositions, court hearings, and client meetings.

During the spring and summer before law school, I worked as a producer at WPBF 25 News. I was quickly assigned the 6:00 p.m. newscast to produce, often considered one of the flagship broadcasts. I wrote dozens of stories per day and sifted through local and national news to find stories relevant to our viewers. I produced special coverage of major events and severe weather.

As KOCO 5's Capitol Correspondent, I worked at the State Capitol during the legislative session covering the day-to-day workings of the legislature and the Governor. This meant reading bills, attending committee meetings, interviewing lawmakers, and asking questions at the Governor's press conferences. I got invaluable experience with the legislative process and sharpened my ability to break down complex stories into digestible narratives under intense deadlines. Part of my job included briefing my colleagues each evening and morning about what was happening at the Capitol, which meant staying in touch with sources and on top of last-minute changes.I also closely covered the state and federal courts, meaning I observed and reported on criminal trials, civil rights lawsuits, and inter-branch governmental disputes. I covered major lawsuits on the death penalty, executive power, COVID restrictions, and the opioid epidemic.Once COVID hit, I added duties as the station's go-to pandemic correspondent. I attended press conferences, poured over data, and found emotional stories of loss and perseverance. I was honored by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters for this coverage.

In my first year at KOCO 5, I worked as a General Assignment Reporter, meaning I covered everything from City Council to severe weather to court cases to crime. I learned valuable skills in working well under pressure, maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality under deadline, and communicating with my colleagues.

I was a multimedia journalist at WJAC-TV, which meant I pitched, researched, shot, wrote, edited and presented my own stories on a daily basis. I found myself everywhere from federal court to corn fields to crime scenes. I developed skills in explaining complex topics in an easy-to-understand way and interviewing subjects under high-stress conditions.

I was an intern at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga., in the summer of 2016. At WMAZ, I produced daily packages that aired on the station's evening newscasts and were posted on its website. I pitched, reported and voiced the stories.

I worked with producers and professors to oversee the production of a daily student-produced newscast. I also promoted and trained new managers and coordinated their daily schedule. I also implemented and relayed new policy and style decisions and managed workflow improvements.

I directed shows and helped to manage volunteer crews in producing the nightly newscast. I also produced original content for the station.
