I am currently a Graduate Student at the University of Vermont. I am pursuing my master's in mechanical engineering with my thesis being on computational modeling of the Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Torch in the UVM Plasma and Diagnostics Laboratory. The ICP Torch is specifically designed for characterizing the chemical behavior of ionized gasses encountered during atmospheric entry in spaceflight. Modeling the ICP Torch involves using the CFD code Yales2 and coupling it with the hypersonic gas dynamics library Mutation++ to create a high-fidelity simulation that can accurately model the catalytic reactions that occur in the flow's boundary layer. While in graduate school, I have had the opportunity to do engineering consulting work with Prime Engineering. Prime Engineering works in the sector of Nuclear Engineering and provides computational analysis for various companies developing modern day nuclear reactors. The work involves conducting simulations and determining if reactor designs adhere to the ASME BPVC regulations. Overall, I am a determined student who has interests in both Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering.
