About Dimantha De Silva

He is a Principal Consultant at CPCS. He received his M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He completed his PhD in Transportation Engineering from University of Calgary, Canada. He has over 22 years of Industrial and Academic experience in transportation engineering across Sri Lanka, Canada and in USA. Prior to joining CPCS he was a Senior Lecturer at Department of Civil Engineering at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. From 2006 to 2014 he worked as a Transportation Engineer in Canada, developing activity based transport demand models, spatial economic land use models. An Expert user of CUBE Voyager and VISSIM Simulation software. He was the team leader developing the Megapolis Transport Masterplan and has been involved in almost all major transport infrastructure studies in Sri Lanka since 2015. He has been instrumental in enabling the Google Transit feature for Sri Lanka that has allowed public transport information for Sri Lanka to be provided through google maps. Also Co-Developer of the M-Trada data mining platform which allows Google traffic data to be used on many transport planning and management projects. He has been involved in all major suburban railway development project feasibility, LRT feasibility and all major road feasibility projects in Sri Lanka since 2014.
