I am a member of the GEMS team, supporting CMUs and PMUs in Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Nepal with managing project-related spatial and non-spatial data. My role includes providing technical assistance for MIS data integration, data analysis, visualization, and the design and development of dashboards. Additionally, I offer GIS and Remote Sensing (RS) consultancy services, including spatial data analysis, map design, and development.The Geo-Enabling Initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) is a capacity-building approach that equips project teams to utilize simple open-source tools such as KoBoToolbox, QGIS, and Power BI to collect and manage structured digital data directly from the field.

I was responsible for performing GAP analysis for functionalities and ensure all functionalities are utilized and implemented on the current systems ,Setting up new operations, closure of gaps for migrated operations and documentation of operations specifications ,performing Integration Tests and System Acceptance Tests on system (IRIS) when required ,liaising closely with R&S operation, relevant internal departments and external parties and all associated stakeholders to ensure that system incidents are promptly followed up, fixed or escalated according to defined support processes, Handling all R&S incidents reported from other R&S hubs in the region (AMM, BJS, MAD, MIA, SIN), System documentation; documentation of countries specifics and Training staff members and other stakeholders on relevant system functions; Preparation and maintenance of training documentation.

I am primarily responsible for facilitating MIS (Management Information System) and managing all project databases including, database development and maintenance, improving the strategy and mechanisms for data collection, validation and management, specially DDR project in Sri Lanka. I am supporting design and implementation of various types of data collections such as surveys, focus group discussions. Also, I am performing data analysis and interpretation as per the requests from the coordination and program teams in order to improving the quality of reports. In addition, I am managing online workspace for collaboration and knowledge sharing across for all units and staff. Most importantly, I was able to add a noteworthy merit to IOM Sri Lanka, by establishing the GIS setup. I am currently engaged in GIS analysis, mapping, preparing charts and graphs to reveal patterns, exploring trends and hot spots and ensuring the integrity and applicability of information.
