After spending a decade working with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles to advance a mission I care deeply about, I now have the privilege of lending my skills to other non-profits who are working to make our world more just. 10 years and 7 promotions at PPLA helped me honed traditional public affairs skills like lobbying, organizing, campaigns, and media. And I've broken that mold to reinterpret what advocacy and branding can look like: working with TV shows watched by 20M+ viewers, innovating fundraising initiatives netting $4M+, and securing electoral victories with grit and creativity (think running canvasses from car trucks and constructing birth control costumes for media attention). Top skills:• Political strategy, policy, and organizing. Leadership roles on campaigns in many states have taught me to be nimble, fast-thinking, a healthy risk taker, and a strong manager of people and resources. The exhausting and exhilarating work of a campaign creates a special team bond, and I thrive in the all-hands-on-deck moments. • Communications. I love to read and much of what I do is the basis of a good ol’ book report: research and digest information, then synthesize and craft a compelling story. From crisis management to public speaking to brand awareness, I have really justified my English major! • Management. Managing a 501(c)4 and PAC, a $2M+ annual budget, supporting a Board of Directors, and overseeing and coaching staff has helped me develop a healthy obsession with administrative details. Now possessing an extensive knowledge of nonprofit tax and campaign finance law, I’m often looked to for guidance.I remain enthusiastic about committing myself to a mission, tackling the challenges, and forging new paths.
