- Did research on the fire performance of concrete using novel fire testing.+ Built a novel test setup with a radiant panel system and the digital image correlation technique (DIC) to address two major drawbacks of the conventional testing method. + Quantified the thermal load imposed by the radiant panel system through view factors to ensure a well-controlled thermal boundary condition.+ Enhanced the DIC system to overcome the four significant challenges associated with deformation measurement at elevated temperatures.+ Conducted an extensive experiment with two mix designs of high strength concrete up to 450 oC with various influencing factors. + Investigated mechanical properties of concrete at ‘hot’ and ‘residual’ conditions (fire and post-fire), especially Poisson’s ratio which is rare in the literature.+ Measured and assessed load-induced thermal strain (LITS), a unique characteristic of concrete.+ Investigated the transverse LITS, which is very limited in the literature.+ Examined the research gap concerning the experiment method related to LITS's absence during cooling.- Tutored undergraduate students in the Structural Mechanics (CIVL2330) course.- Worked as a teaching assistant in the Reinforced Concrete Design (CIVL2360) and Advanced Concrete Design (CIVL4333) courses.- Mentored Master students in doing research.Achievements:- My testing method has been novel and unique in Australia (until the present, 2021). - I have authored one high-quality paper in a Q1 journal and one paper in an international conference. - I presented my research results at three international conferences.

- Conducting research on the fire and post-fire performance of high-strength concrete during heating and cooling.- Conducting research on the shrinkage, creep and cracks of concrete structures.- Attempting to build a new numerical model for the constitutive stress-strain relationship of concrete.- Writing high-quality journal papers.

- Taught the undergraduate courses of Steel Structure and Timber Structure.- Guided students to draft structural and detailed drawings of Steel Structures, particularly industrial steel columns, beams and trusses with bolted and welded joints, following the national standards.- Instructed students to do final-year projects, including designing residential or commercial buildings and detailing about 15 A1-size drawings for each student.- Mentored students to do research on the seismic design of steel structures and the strut-and-tie model of concrete structures.Achievements:- The student team under my supervisor obtained the first prize in the competition held by the Faculty of Civil Engineering in 2015.

- Taught the undergraduate course of Steel Structure.- Did research on cold-formed steel based on Eurocode 3.- Designed, drafted sloped and combined footings, concrete frames, slabs and stairs (A3-size drawings), and supervised at sites as a contract engineer for low-rise residential buildings (3-4 storeys).Achievements- I was awarded the full scholarship for the Master program sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Education.
