I am an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Political Science while working on a leadership certificate and participating in native student organizations and programs. I am very passionate about art, content creating, and studying American politics. I have painted murals for Crandon High School to show the significance of the Native American student population and to embrace indigenous identity. I run a rapidly growing YouTube channel earning compensation while editing and uploading videos on the platform for the world to enjoy. In the future, I hope to become a champion for the younger generations and to bring awareness about tribal sovereignty and helping people understand the unique relationship between Native American Tribes and the U.S. Government. I also love studying and traveling around the world and learning the many cultures, traditions, and languages in every corner of the world. I also hope to apply my knowledge I gain from my world travels in tribal, local, state, and federal levels into my work to bring cultural and personal depth, offering something brand new to the table. Throughout high school, I have participated in four years of Spanish from my freshman to senior year while earning Spanish college credits through the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Early College Credit Program at Crandon High School. During that time, I became a member of the Spanish Honor Society and developed a great understanding of Spanish and Latin American culture and language. In 2021, I participated in Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction’s Global Scholars Program, a program for high school students in which students must complete 4 years of a foreign language, 4 co-curricular cultural activities, 4 high school courses with a global focus, complete a 20 hour service learning project that deals with one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and 8 cultural literacy reflections which must include at least museum visits, books, movies, or other approved mediums. In April 2023, I have successfully completed all of the requirements for the DPI’s Global Scholars Program and became the first Global Scholar recipient in Northern Wisconsin as well as the first Native American high school student and the first student in the School District of Crandon to complete the program. Whenever I am offered the chance, I will take the opportunities that will bring me joy and the ability to use my skills to go after my dreams for the future.
