As the Marketing Manager for Faithful, I am pushing forward with their values of Community, Connection and Inclusion among the many faiths represented across the UK. Faithful is able to offer free resources to faith organisations and faith-led social action projects with the use of free venues for worship, prayer and related activities. I am a retired Registered Sign Language Interpreter & Translator who worked in a wide variety of domains but I specialise in TV, Media, Digital and Business interpreting & translations. I am a 'Leader in Residence' at the University of Central Lancashire, which was home during my 8 years of academic study into British Sign Language and Deaf Culture. I am delighted to be in a position to Pay It Forward by inspiring and supporting soon to qualify BSL / English interpreters studying at this great institution. I am privileged to be holding this position until 2024.As the CEO and Co-Founder of Deaf Business Academy CIC (DBA 2013 - 2018) I led a team in achieving improved equality and opportunity for Deaf people in business that would not have happened without our vision and passion.We were the first organisation in the UK to solely support Deaf entrepreneurs and created the very first specialist business course designed for deaf people who use BSL. This including developing the 'Business Signs Project' which completed research to create a specialist glossary of BSL terms for use in the business sector. the 'Business Signs Glossary' is a community resource available to BSL users and professionals who work with them.We also hosted the Deaf Business Awards to celebrate and promote the achievements of deaf-led business in the UK. We continue to work with partners to enable equality of service, accessible training and inclusion for Deaf people in Business. I am also a member of the Christian Interpreters Network and volunteer to interpret Christian events, conferences and services all over the UK.
