Learnt the basics of cognitive behavioural, existential, psychodynamic, and narrative therapy. Additionally gained a deeper understanding of queer affirmative and cognitive behavioural therapy.Learning was facilitated through role-plays and case discussions.

Learnt how to conduct sessions with resistant clients, couple’s counselling, group counselling and queer-affirmative counselling. The learning was assimilated through role-plays and case discussions.

Learnt how to select a research topic and conduct a literature review. I also gained a basic understanding of running SPSS.

This program focused on the humanistic-existential psychotherapy model, primarily through Irvin Yalom's work. Learnings involved some basics of counselling like rapport formation, being comfortable in discomfort, utilising silence in the therapeutic space, reflective listening, paraphrasing, and other micro skills. Learnt case conceptualisation for mental health conditions using the International Classification of Diseases - 10 by utilising case vignettes. Additionally, sessions involved discussions with a facilitator, who was a practising clinical psychologist.

In this internship I got the opportunity to learn about the basics of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. The teaching consisted of learning practical skills through role-plays and case discussions.
