Having joined GPD as a research analyst, I was later promoted to project manager and then to programme lead. My key achievements/responsibilities in this role were:• Designed and raised funds for a 3 year project working with partners in 9 countries across Africa, Latin America and Asia to the value of USD $3,000,000. This project was subsequently labelled a “flagship project” by the donor.• Designed and raised funds for two 1 year projects working with partners in South Asia valued at GBP £200,000 and GBP £149,950.• Researched and co-wrote substantial reports for the European Parliament, UNESCO, the Ford Foundation.• Managed many learning and strategic planning events for activists in the UK and abroad. • Conducted two large-scale programme evaluations for the Swedish International Development Agency. • Presented GPD through public-speaking at a wide variety of audiences, from side-events at the European Parliament and the United Nations, to youth group meetings. • Designed and commissioned a range of documents, including the first two instalments of the “Travel Guide to the Internet World” series.• Served as the co-chair of an international multi-stakeholder coalition for online human rights - the Internet Rights and Principles Coalition. • Served as an independent expert on the Council of Europe’s Committee on the Rights of the Internet User.
