Diya Patel is a 18-year-old social entrepreneur, author, and podcaster. She is currently a high-school student looking to pursue a career in political science and economics, with a minor in business management. She is very enthusiastic about youth leadership, financial awareness, social change-making, and advocacy.​Diya is the founder of Breaking Bounds podcast, a podcast that serves to help teens and youth become more involved in government and news. She is also the author of a nonfiction book geared towards helping students interested in learning more about the importance of municipalities and community involvement: America Starts Local. Both Breaking Bounds and America Starts Local work to advance the modern generations' knowledge of the importance of fulfilling one's civic duties and engaging with their representatives. Diya serves as a youth involved in her town's political committee which looks to grow the number of youth representatives in the field, thus encouraging young leaders to be changemakers in government. She strongly believes in encouraging student leaders to make effective social change and gain an important understanding of the way their government functions. She looks to facilitate a positive impact within her community and is welcome to discuss her journey, youth in government, and advocacy at any speaking event.
