Deployed 30+ years of private sector investment management experience in an exciting team effort to critically assess and redefine the investment and risk management functions at the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF), a self-sustaining, not-for-profit insurance carrier charged with providing low-cost worker's compensation and disability coverage for employees working in New York State. Reported directly to NYSIF’s CIO and managed a team of 4 credit professionals responsible for underwriting and monitoring corporate credit exposures. Oversaw over $20 billion of internally and externally managed Investments across multiple asset classses. Drafted Credit Policy, including Sustainability Policy, and provided input for the Fund’s Investment Policy Statement. Acted as Chief Administrative Officer for the department, serving as a liaison on most Human Resource issues. Drafted and implemented remote work policy. Participated in multiple procurements. Presided over quarterly Credit Committee. Regularly participated in Risk Committee, Pricing Committee and monthly Investment Committee of the Board.

Presided over or participated in Investment Committee for various asset classes, including: Investment Grade Bonds, High Yield, Emerging Markets, Asset-backed Securities, Leveraged Loans, Commercial Mortgage Loans, and Private Placements. Assisted in creation of a separate asset management company in Japan to centrally manage assets of four separate insurance companies. Implemented Sustainability Policy to consider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues affecting investments. Chaired Interntional Credit Committee. Managed distressed debt and workout group. Initiated annual global fixed income credit conference, bringing together analysts, traders and portfolio mangers from around the world.

Co-authored initial credit policy and procedures, which were later adopted more universally. Integrated American General operations, post-merger, adopting best practices.
