I am a senior partner of the law firm of McHugh & Macri in East Hanover, New Jersey, formed in 1978. I am a certified elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation (NAELA); past president of the New Jersey chapter of the NAELA (The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys); 2006 chair of the Elder/Disability Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association; chair of the New Jersey Medicaid regulation committee; listed as a Top NJ Attorney in elder law; recipient of the N. J. Bar Association first "Distinguished Service" award in elder/disability law, awarded the AV rating in ethics and expertise, and member of NAELA Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP).I am an author and lecturer on elder/disability law to civic groups and professional legal societies, including the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education of the New Jersey Bar Association. My practice addresses all aspects of elder and disability law, tax, estate and asset preservation planning to provide for the supplemental needs of disabled and elder clients. I also specialize in probate and Medicaid litigation issues and retirement planning.
