About Niels Andersen
Most of my software engineering experience is with high performance, high availability, and high complexity systems with many internal and external interfaces. I have worked on central system software for transaction processing, GUI clients, mainframe software, and interactive web pages both client and server side. In my spare time I had a lot of fun using my programming skills for things like game modding, Arduino programming, or creating an Internet server for a high performance chat system.I have participated in several software projects following a CMMI level 4 certified process working on requirements, design, testing, configuration management and even project management. I have also helped implement Scrum and other agile processes in my teams. My greatest passion, however, is programming, no matter what language or type of system. Even though C has been my primary language for many years I have also developed software with C++, C#, Java, and several scripting languages, most notably PHP.It doesn't matter to me if I'm developing a GUI application on Windows, a central system product on OpenVMS, a CICS or batch application on mainframe, or a component for a J2EE application on Linux. Each language and environment has its unique advantages and ways to satisfy my appetite for programming.
