As part of my responsibilities at WeWork, I developed and maintained their Availability service. The Availability service was built to be the single source of truth for booking data at WeWork, placing our booking and leasing data under one API. This allowed our products to be both leasable and bookable at the same time, while also enabling external resellers to book our spaces.High level summary of responsibilities:- Developed and maintained booking source of truth, facilitating new products with an estimated revenue increase of $250k a week- Conducted data-driven optimization of MySQL queries reducing query times by an order of magnitude, from seconds to milliseconds- Designed a crucial real time date range transformation with minimal performance impact- Devised a versatile query builder, enabling rapid creation and testing of new data filters- Established database locking strategy to ensure data integrity- Coordinated migrations of millions of database rows with custom data dashboards written in Snowflake and Splunk- Refined tasks and helped team focus on key priorities

During my time as a Research Assistant, my primary focus was on implementing and researching NLP systems specifically tailored for analyzing Tweets and other short-form text. I took charge of architecting the program and data flow, leveraging standard data structures and design patterns in the process. The resulting system is described in the paper YAFTEL, published in the IEEE journal on April 25th 2019.
