Digital Technology Leadership Program
• Developed a system for the GE Healthcare Enterprise Parts Library (EPL) using Java, Polymer, and Pandas that recommends a list of related parts after a user has added a part to their engineering design, accelerating product development and promoting the reuse of standard parts.• Redesigned the EPL search functionality to prioritize parts targeted by GE Healthcare in order to advance strategic supplier partnerships and reduce shipping costs.• Led design and implementation for the Common Analytic Framework’s (CAF) Automapping feature using Java and React. Automapping reduces users’ time spent manually mapping hundreds of ports by automatically mapping all ports in an analytical model with a few clicks. • Saved hours of productivity for scientists and engineers by leading the design and implementation for CAF’s Log Download feature using Java and React. The feature allows users to efficiently investigate their analytics’ deployment failures by downloading logs with the click of a button.• Developed and deployed Pick-to-Light and Place-to-Light applications using a micro-services architecture and various technologies, such as MQTT, Docker, and Raspberry Pi, for a GE Power Automation & Controls plant. Both applications streamlined the building of printed circuit boards (PCB) by directing operators to what component to pick next and where to place it on the PCB. Successful deployment led to a 96% reduction in the plant’s maintenance expenses for a Pick-to-Light system.
Modeling & Analytics Intern
• Designed and developed an analytics solution that predicts the performance status of pipelines and remaining lifespan of anode beds and rectifiers. The solution enhances corrosion prevention, facilitates more accurate budgeting and scheduling, and allows for integration with other pipeline protection systems.• Developed a classification tree based on aggregated historical data to predict an assets current level of performance in order for corrosion specialists to determine what assets may be in critical condition.• Designed and implemented a predictive model estimating an assets remaining lifespan to program maintenance repairs.• Designed and developed a Spotfire based user-interface to easily visualize performance trends and asset status.• Created technical documentation detailing system architecture, modeling criteria, and user-interface functionality.
Undergraduate Researcher – Use Of “Big Data” In Professional Sports
• Acquired data from public sports websites regarding Major League Baseball using web scraping techniques in Java.• Developed scripts to collect player performance data, play-by-play results, and team rosters for 2016.• Created plots in R displaying results from analysis regarding a player’s performance and social media mentions.
Software Engineering Intern
• Developed various software tools in order to help streamline the efforts and improve the performance of employees monitoring assets and machinery in Industrial Performance Reliability Centers. Tools included:• Automated AEG_06: Shortened turnover procedure from seven hours to ten minutes. Automated process determines if an asset’s default settings are properly set and its performance is ready to be monitored.• Case Report Generator: Shortened procedure for generating monthly case reports from two hours to five minutes.• Residual Threshold Manager: Recommended residual threshold values for a collection of assets based on data read from sensors and designated token values read from a lookup table.• Built a programming framework for testing a suite of software programs without the need for direct calls to the server in order to test functionality and expected outcomes and prevent corruption to customer assets.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
• Assisted in multiple projects related to maintenance and advancement in nuclear power plant technology• Planned and led testing effort to determine capacity of filter modules to be used for development of boiling water nuclear reactors• Performed testing simulating leaking fuel rods in order to determine efficiency of vacuum sipping mechanism • Completed Solid Works models, assemblies, and drawings including components of a steam generator, laboratory floor plan, and filter assembly
Camp Office Assistant, Camp Counselor
• Aided camp administrators in organizing camp activities• Handled and responded to questions and concerns from parents and campers• Supervised group of 10+ students participating in daily activities such as sports, swimming, and music
Research And Design Intern
