About Donna Maione, Phd

Donna received her Ph.D. at the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University in 2023. Her research examines design methods and strategies for reducing waste in the textile industry. She explores the relationships at different scales between the spaces of everyday life experiences and the broader socio-technical systems toward the reduction of fashion consumption and the mitigation of textile waste, with a particular emphasis on the interrelation between her career as a clothing designer and her expertise in deconstructing and mending techniques.
