Cole Fabrics Plc is one of the largest and most experienced Ribbon Manufacturers in the UK. We work with customers all over the world to supply ribbon for product embellishment, garment labelling material, bespoke printed ribbon and plain ribbon. The name Cole has been linked with the textile industry for over 100 years and in this time Cole Fabrics has grown and expanded into the Cole Fabrics Group of today which consists of Cole Fabrics Plc based in the U.K., Cole Fabrics Far East Ltd based in Hong Kong and Global Ribbons Italia based in Italy.Our clients range from specialist cake producers through to national and multinational fashion and retail clients from all over the world. In working with such a varied customer base we have developed skills and experience that allow us to take on and manage complex projects and help develop a product to suit the needs of our customers.My duties included;- Planning the Label Slit Production at the Nottingham Factory to ensure the production runs efficiently to consistently meet the required despatch dates.- Assessing stock levels, stock consumption and stock forecasts.- Creating, updating and adapting Excel workbooks to create greater efficiency using a mixture of skills including macros and VBA.- Being involved in continuous improvement to the way the Planning Department operates.- Tracking, clearing and organising delivery of goods being shipped to the UK by Road, Air and Sea.- I have been involved in two company wide Profit Improvement Projects (PIPs) which are projects devised with Lean principles in mind to cut waste and increase efficiency through out Cole Fabrics itself and our supply chain.- Liaising with suppliers and shipping agents to ensure timely delivery dates to create an efficient and controlled supply chain.

EMT is a leading force in Pharmacy Distribution offering next day delivery and a wide range of products to support and service Independent Pharmacies across the UK. EMT supplies over 3,500 pharmacies who are supported by EMT’s Sales Representatives that operate throughout the UK offering guidance and expert knowledge on goods and stock presentation.My Duties included;- Analysing sales to construct sales forecasts and procuring stock to match forecasts.- Communicating with suppliers to ensure ordered stock arrives on time.- Due to improvements I made the company were recording their lowest levels of lost sales due to out of stocks. When I left the average percentage of lines that were out of stock sat at under 3% (P&G research states that the retail market average is 8%).- Construction and maintenance of consumption spread sheets which are shared with suppliers to ensure there are no gaps in the supply chain.- To ensure out of stock KPIs are met.- Perform Time Series Analysis on sales using Single and Double Moving Averages.- Use of VBA programming in Excel to create Macros, Sub-procedures and Functions.- Working to ISO 9001:2008 standards as well as producing new documentation into the company's SOPs to improve efficiency.

This was an Inventory Management role which included such responsibilities as;- Managing a team of up to 14 people.- Taking an active part in Company production Meetings to ensure we had stock to cover the jobs on the production plan and raising and assessing potential supply issues.- Working with the Preparation Planner to ensure there was enough stock for jobs to run.- Working to the company’s production plan to ensure all required materials for a job were made available to the production lines on time.- Carrying out regular stock checks and performing root cause analyses on any stock inaccuracies.- Introducing extensive changes to how the Kitting Team worked with implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure the team worked efficiently to achieve its goals. These included introducing stock checking procedures which increased stock accuracy from 76% to 96% and implementing transfer paperwork for stock being moved between sites and to offsite locations to ensure stock movements were recorded prior to handheld scanners being introduced.- Recording, analysing and presenting data through Excel.- Creating Excel Macros.- Use of handheld scanners.- Monitoring output of the Stripping Out Department to ensure targets were met and materials were available in time to be transferred to the production lines in time.
