Getting customers to adopt new products and love them is what makes me tick. I thoroughly enjoy building commercially successful projects and seeing companies succeed with the products I’ve built. One of my talents is aligning organisations with their products and technologies: I am able to get everyone working towards a clear and common vision.I started my career in technology as a Systems Development Engineer and Architect, and then had an opportunity to manage a complex technology rollout (a biometrically enabled banking platform for 10 million customers), which taught me a lot about the other aspects of business: product adoption, user experience and the importance of product positioning and marketing.For the last 7+ years I have been the Head of Product for a variety of multinational companies in Africa and Europe, and have developed relevant product strategies to enable profitable new business opportunities as well as worked with a wide range of service vendors and product partners from across the globe to deliver resilient products that have supported the businesses as they have evolved.Selected achievements: * Developing a Mobile Credit Distribution system and deploying it in Ireland, South Africa and Algeria, turning nearly €200M p/a.* Designing and developing a Prepaid Electricity vending system moving the purchase of Prepaid Electricity vouchers away from City Halls and into Retail Stores across South Africa as well as online, turning €30 million p/a.* Building mobile banking solutions for previously unbanked grant beneficiaries enabling a free and easy to use mobile banking service which currently serves over 5 million users monthly.* Creating a mobile operator advanced airtime platform to enable mobile subscribers to advance airtime from the mobile operator and pay it back when they next top-up, currently handling 9,3 million transactions per day and driving a 10% higher subscriber ARPU.If you need help with making a digital product (or several products) successful, get in touch so we can talk about how I might be able to help you!
