- Established and led projects in video analytics.- Hired and supervised coop and graduate students.- Worked on Canadarm2 project - adding safety to robot arm manipulation using computer vision- Developed one of the first publicly-reported real-time neural-network-based face recognition systems (demonstrated live at NATO workshop in 2004).- Developed one of the first Canadian-made publicly-reported video analytic systems (piloted by NRC commissionaire in 2006).- Developed a unique video-based nose recognition and tracking technology, licensed to industry, later acquired by the Canada Museum of Science and Technology- Organized and chaired international and national conferences and special tracks in facerecognition, video analytics, and neural networks.
