-Over 600 recorded sea days working in isolated environments and harsh weather conditions.-Assessed species composition of hauls and offloads (longline, pot, net, & canneries) in commercial fishing vessels and on-shore delivery plants in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska.-Team Lead in special projects including otolith collection, shark-lense collection, stomach collection, sex/length frequencies, adipose and scale collection of salmon, and new species identification.-Collection of biological samples of endangered species including marine mammals and birds.-Meticulous data collection and data input while maintaining communication with a variety of federal and state regulatory agencies (NOAA, NMFS, ADF&G, USACE). -Work closely with ship captains and officers as well as their crew.

-Participate in environmental monitoring tasks as needed.-Aquatic and terrestrial specimen identification and data collection.-Perform water quality testing in and around dredge dumping site.-Work closely with Ross Island Sand and Gravel Company dredging crew.-Operate a small vessel, marine navigation equipment, GPS, and radar on the Sacramento River to collect water samples at specified collection sites.

-Accurately identify dead and dying trees affected by drought.-Inspect overhead power lines for proper vegetation clearance.-Perform pre-inspection and concise work plans in advance of tree trimming work.-Assist in storm and emergency situations clearance projects.-Independently worked outside in extreme winter and summer weather conditions.

-Collection and data entry of study parameters.-Accurate and consistent collection of tissues and biological sample collections per study protocols.-Routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment to ensure proper working conditions.-Maintain pertinent records in compliance with SOP’s, EPA, USDA, FDA, and AAALCA International regulations and guidelines.

-Teaching Assistant: Physical Geology & Life Through Time/Historical Geology-Participated in outreach as tour guide; educated visitor on the biological and geological history of the region.

Tutored students in Physics 1 & 2, Genetics, and all Spanish levels.

-Lead researcher in excavation and collection of sediment and other samples from a late Pleistocene to modern peat bog site.-Assisted in archeological excavations, surveying, collection, and on-field processing of artifacts. -Due to the isolation of the research sites, work consisted of harsh living and working conditions, including extreme cold temperatures, lack of electricity and running water, and severe weather.
