As a Program Director, I reported to the Executive Director and oversaw and managed NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) program providing educational, recreational, and workforce development services within a Public Housing Community Center. One of my most proudest goals was the facilitation of the Young Men's Initiative (YMI). With this initiative, we were able to mentor 24 high school participants and redirect their path from being involved in generational crime and poverty to giving them life skills and resources for success. With Brooklyn Community Services, I earned 3 promotions within 5 years and wrote and won grants geared of $25,000+.

As an Assistant Director, I oversaw all day-to-day activities in the Community Center including the hiring, training, supervising and evaluating of part-time center staff. I became Assistant Director during a difficult period for the community center due to frequent management changes and staff shortages. During this period, I was able to hire and train capable staff while running a successful summer camp program.

As a Group Leader, I was able to provide structured, effective learning and instructions for elementary children that supported academic goals. I created and hosted numerous community events such as talent shows, holiday giveaways, food drives and special initiatives. One of my most successful initiatives was an 8 week internship that I facilitated for 20 teenage participants. During this period, participants learned career and college readiness, successfully completed job applications and entered the workforce and received stipends upon completion. 2 of my participants were hired as permanent employees at the completion of the internship.
