The Learning Disabilities Program is within the Neurology Department at Boston Children's Hospital and consists of a team of providers from multiple disciplines. As the Program Coordinator for the Learning Disabilities (LD) Program, I ensured that the operations of the LD clinic ran smoothly. I was responsible for speaking with families and assisting them through the process of scheduling an extensive Learning Disabilities Evaluation with our team. I ensured that BDH provided exemplary care for the persons-served and that the program maintained quality standards that MassHealth expects.Directly responsible for supervising 28 direct-care staff, 4 Site Managers, as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Registered Nurse , Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Pathologist, and Physical Therapist. I oversaw all hiring of program staff, helped with scheduling staff trainings, and provided SafetyCare training to Vinfen staff. I assisted in the development of programming/strategies to help the individuals lead the most independent and fulfilling lives possible. A Site Manager’s daily duties are focused on upholding Vinfen’s high expectations for providing meaningful activities that encourage growth and transformation in individuals living with developmental, medical, and psychiatric disabilities. Duties include:• Act as a resource for persons-served and all parties involved including case managers, Mass. State Department of Developmental Services, guardians, transportation services, and family members.
