Ocean Optics is an amazing little technology company that makes miniature spectrometers used worldwide in an incredibly diverse set of applications. I'm the software engineering manager located at Ocean's Winter Park FL facility. Our software and firmware work includes bare metal 'C' firmware, FreeRTOS, embedded Linux, Java GUI and non-GUI applications, C# apps, Android apps, high performance C++ code, browser based UIs leveraging the latest technology, applied machine learning, and cloud based development with AWS. Our hardware-software solutions range from bio-metric and genetic analysis to detection of bootlegged liquor. Our spectrometers have been on rovers sent to the moon and mars and are used in research facilities throughout the world. We're involved with military applications as well as a variety of manufacturing applications.We're continuously amazed by the ways our customers apply spectroscopy to further science and solve real world problems. Our spectrometers can perform everything from color matching and analysis to detection of specific substances such as pesticides, bio-markers, petroleum and soil analysis, counterfeit detection of all flavors, and just about anything else you can think of. Our sales staff and application engineers are absolutely brilliant and eager to help customers and potential customers apply spectroscopy to make discoveries and solve problems.
