Including Project Manager Borderline Personality Disorder 2000-2002Information Management & Technology Strategy 2001Mental Health & Prisons Lead 2002-2004Strategic management and leadership of a large group of statutory drug and alcohol services across South-West of England, including overseeing the development of numerous new services both in the community (urban and rural areas) and with the Criminal Justice System, including developing effective interfaces with the Police, the Courts, the Probation Service and the Prison System. Ensuring standards and practice of all drug services across the SW UK (some 50 services at the time - both statutory and NGO) through Audit and monitoring, including management of the Regional Database and the Regional Audit Project, the latter a nationally recognised model of good practice before its function was subsumed under the Healthcare Commission. Additionally, in my role as a senior strategic manager in one of the largest NHS Mental Health Trusts in the UK, I was responsible for a variety of areas of services and strategies including a number of Specialist Mental Health areas, and had a particularly good record of developing effective partnerships between strategic planning and service development and delivery. I was also the lead on several pieces of research in Addictions, Criminal Justice and Mental Health and did much to improve the effectiveness of the interface between research and practice.

Develop, lead and manage new Statutory multi-disciplinary and multi-agency drug service serving a large rural area of the UK

Managing and co-ordinating NHS Specialist Clinic serving inner-city population with severe drug problems, including homeless, women sex-workers, pregnant drug-users, people with HBV/HCV/HIV, etc.

Developing, leading and managing a range of Criminal Justice, Drugs and HIV work for lead NGO serving the City of Bristol, working with the police, the courts, probation and the prisons. I was one of the pioneers of this area of work within the UK, particularly of working with drug users in prison. Work with the Criminal Justice System is now a key part of the UK strategy for drug demand reduction and control.
