I lead the work of the Wildlife Trust movement, 46 organisations spanning the UK and our international partners, growing our impact on and by people. I advocate and campaign for change in the UK’s health and education sectors. I am a member of the wider leadership team, and regularly report to RSWT Council. Examples of how I have driven change and success include: - Leading the co-development and delivery of The Wildlife Trust’s Health and Education strategies. - Working across land, marine, policy and public affairs teams to maximise learning and influence.- Communicating the evidence, outcomes and impact of our work through media interviews, scientific publications, conference appearances, roundtables and other policy fora.- Designing high impact evaluation and evidence programmes. - Developing and stewarding diverse networks to maximise reach.

United Kingdom

A senior management post; I led the health and wellbeing workstream across the 46 UK Wildlife Trusts, this included:- advocating for and influencing policy and practical change at UK, devolved and local level.- building the capacity and capability of individual Wildlife Trusts to design, develop and deliver key programmes of work relating to positive impact on people, climate change and nature loss. - creating an evidence and knowledge network to share and replicate best practice. - campaigning for nature, wildlife and its role in creating a healthier, happier society.- generating funding through partnership and proposition development. - developing the evidence base by working with academic institutions and others to inform decision-making.

I was a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. During my time on the SLT we led significant change, including a rebrand and refocus of our vision, mission and strategy. I was responsible for the policy, advocacy and external partnerships teams across the UK and advocating for their adoption at national and devolved Government. I also developed and managed high value partnerships with grant making bodies and corporate partners.

I led the development of key programmes of work and strategic partnerships across the UK, establishing the Green Gym™ unit - one of the first national ‘green prescriptions’ in the UK. I was also managing key partnerships and relationships that underpinned key programmes of work.

I developed, designed, delivered and evaluated projects and programmes across the UK. I worked with contractors, investors and commissioners to deliver contracts and services, including the Community Green Flag Award, Government employability contracts and national youth citizenship initiatives.

England-Wide

A strategic contract for the Department for Education & Skills to develop their youth and citizenship programmes. including their flagship youth volunteering programme, Millennium Volunteers™. I established support networks for people and community-based youth projects, designed a self-assessment quality framework, developed national and local sustainability plans and concluded with a planned transition to new contract holders.

International

August 2001 – May 2004 Senior International Programmes Manager - i-to-i (TUI Group)I had overall responsibility for the smooth running of the international volunteering programme. This involved developing partnerships with organisations in South America, West Africa, East and Central Asia and co-creating conservation, climate resilience, and community engagement programmes. I was responsible for creating and maintaining i-to-i’s crisis response plan, training new members of staff and managing a team of 10 regional programme managers in the UK and 24 overseas staff. I was also responsible for Customer Relations, which involved meeting returned volunteers, running focus groups and reporting on their findings to the Executive team. April 2000 – August 2001 Asia Programmes Manager - i-to-i (TUI Group) I was responsible for the volunteer programmes in China, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. I liaised with support teams in-country and prepared the volunteers before departure. I conducted overseas site visits during which I ensured the volunteers were working effectively at their projects and established new business and contacts for future development in conservation, teaching and community development volunteer projects. October 1999 – April 2000 Trainer: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) - i-to-iI develop i-to-i's brand new on-line TEFL course - a UK first - and I taught groups of around 20 students how to teach English as a Foreign Language on intensive weekend course throughout the UK.
