Researching the potential for applying landscape ecological principles to the planning and delivery of a large-scale woodland restoration programme in central Scotland.Locating, assessing and interpretating published ecological and landscape ecological research, writing working papers.Creating a GIS model of part of central Scotland, and using it to investigate various approaches to landscape ecological landscape planning (by applying current landscape ecological thinking).Organising an international seminar on landscape ecology and land use planning, with participants from Canada, France, the Nertherlands and the UK.Co-authoring two published research papers.

Doing a wide range of conservation- and education-related things, from small mammal surveys and practical work on nature reserves, town & country planning casework, through compiling an inventory of habitats managed by the Trust, to developing and delivering a fresh-water-related educational survey project working with schools and youth groups on rivers and streams across Hertfordshire & Middlesex.Organising fundraising events.Planning and delivering inset training to primary school teachers.
