The CCSU Hybrid Propellant Rocket Engine team conducts tests observing oxygen flow rate, rocket thrust, exhaust temperature, and cross chamber pressure on a horizontally mounted hybrid propellant rocket, over a range of variables including oxygen storage pressure, solid fuel grain composition, and solid fuel grain structure. My project team sought to observe the operation of the engine at much higher oxygen storage pressures than previously tested. because of this, many issues with the existing setup needed to be addressed in order for accurate testing to be conducted. • Develop, implement, and verify electrical changes to test equipment including complete overhaul of control system using CLICK PLC controller, new power source, electro-mechanical relays, and transorb to dampen electrical impulse to flow valves.• Develop, implement, and verify mechanical changes to test equipment including fabrication of new mounts for thermocouples, and upgrades to piping system to allow for increase in mass flow rates without the presence of supersonic flow.
