Oversee the content development of the NEA's publications, website, and social media channels, supervising a staff of seven. We develop and implement a national strategic plan for those areas of external communications of the Public Affairs Office to achieve the goals of maximizing awareness of the NEA, advancing the profiles of agency initiatives, and promoting the arts in communities nationwide. Create a consistent identity for the agency with the arts community, Congress, and the general public. Determine and monitor performance metrics for social media and website. Responsible for the editorial direction, design, development, production, and distribution of all agency publications, as well as the content for the website and social media channels. Manage budget for Public Affairs office. Collaborate with NEA senior management, other NEA offices, federal agencies, and nonprofit and for-profit organizations on outreach efforts for NEA-supported projects. Provides communications advice to NEA staff on various programs and activities. Oversaw the conversion of website to Drupal CMS and the training of staff on it, and the redesign of the agency website in 2020. Member of the executive working committee writing the NEA Strategic Plan 2018-2022. Acted as Executive Producer for the 2015 NEA Jazz Masters Awards Concert & Ceremony, developing program, performers, and script for concert and overseeing production of four video tributes for the 2015 class of Carla Bley, George Coleman, Charles Lloyd, and Joe Segal. Technical advisor to the NEA Music program for all NEA Jazz Masters concerts, and Executive Producer of tribute videos for NEA Jazz Masters, 2015-2020.

Responsible for the development and production of official NEA publications that are broadly disseminated to Congress, the press, the general public, and the arts community in the U.S. and abroad. Tasks include conceptualizing, researching, writing, editing, and selecting graphic material; managing staff working on publications and contracts for design, editing, and printing; overseeing production schedules and design and printing specifications, as well as reviewing and approving design and printing proofs; developing and managing budget and strategy for publications annually as well as the budget for the entire Public Affairs Office; managing the distribution of publications nationally and internationally; preparing materials for agency’s website; and providing technical assistance to other offices. Collaborated with other cultural organizations on outreach for various projects, such as working on promotional items for an NEA National Heritage Fellows concert as part of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and creating a catalog for a major NEA/National Gallery of Art initiative, Vogel 50x50.

Wrote and edited a variety of documents for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, including a quarterly newsletter for Office of Public and Indian Housing, an annual report for the Grants Management Center, a guidebook on the Family Self-Sufficiency program, and the presidential report, A Promise Being Fulfilled: The Transformation of America's Public Housing.

Oversaw print media for U.S. Agency for International Development program, United States-Asia Environmental Partnership (US-AEP), including annual reports, biweekly newsletters, and various marketing materials. Conducted interviews in both U.S. and Asia with government, nonprofit, and business representatives for use in publications.

Organized and taught one section of Business English, focusing on improving oral and writing skills with an emphasis on U.S. business vocabulary and culture.

Managed multimillion-dollar grants from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including tracking project progress and budget; coordinated construction activities with other office staff to concur with budget and HUD regulations; ensured that all necessary reports were presented to HUD by deadlines; and worked with Director to create new budget annually.

Read and reviewed manuscripts for the international literary magazine, participated in the selection of stories to be published, and performed public relations tasks for visiting writers’ readings.
