Freeport LNG is expanding the existing regas plant to include liquefaction capabilities. The expansion when fully built will consist of 3 mixed refrigerant trains, each capable of producing 4.4 million tons per annum of LNG, an additional storage tank and a second dock. A pretreatment plant will also be constructed about 2.5 miles north of the terminal. The project is expected to cost in excess of $10 billion and will have a peak of 3600 workers.
