As part of a special partnership between Purdue Pharma and the National Center for Wellness and Recovery at the Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, I have been collaborating with leadership and faculty researchers at OSU-CHS in Tulsa to develop new research strategies and external partnerships. We are implementing new basic research aimed at pain and addiction, leveraging the unprecedented access to various research assets from Purdue Pharma's former discovery research operation, including novel molecules, research data, specialized cell lines, and human bio-samples from more than 25 phase 2-3 clinical trials, for biomarker research. The National Center for Wellness and Recovery at OSU-CHS is primarily focused on treating patients, but we recognize that long-term solutions to the opioid crisis will come from collaborative research.Formerly the VP of Discovery Research at Purdue Pharma where our team focused on discovery of alternatives to opioids, my final role prior to retirement was primarily that of a scientific leader, participating in strategy, diligence, and education, but mainly collaborating with internal teams to evaluate and foster various public health initiatives and academic relationships.
