About Don Mitchell
I am President and Chief Economist of DPRInternational, a U.S. based consulting firm specializing in development policy. I have worked in more than twenty developing countries on policies as Lead Economist at the World Bank and as a consultant to Booz Allen, USAID and USDA. I was the Chief-of-Party of the USAID-funded Tanzania SERA Policy Project from 2011 to 2014 and Senior Advisor from 2015 and 2016. The Project was implemented by Booz Allen and was credited by the Prime Minister with providing the research that convinced the government to lift the maize export ban. I am currently working with the USDA-funded MOD Project in Sri Lanka on policy reforms in the dairy sector.Specialties: Development Policies, Agricultural Policies, Food Security, Commodity Analysis, Biofuels.
