Centre of Site Buildings Solutions Program

Project Manager for Healthcare construction and renovation upgrades particularly in the Diagnostic Imaging departments of hospitals. Cross section of project types include MRI's, CT's, Operating Suites, X-Ray departments, Cath labs, Angio Suites.

All duties of construction and contract management: • Manage as many as 5 supervisors on varied turn-key hospital projects concurrently• Organize and coordinate consultant team to prepare construction documentation• Control project cost and approve trades invoices • Prepare cost estimates for Requests for Proposal • Research and prepare proposal submissions• Engage, coordinate and schedule all sub-trades to meet specific construction timelines• Manage project with preparation and submission of Requests for Information, Purchase Orders, Change Requests, Change Orders, permit processes• Complete site reviews, report writing, chair meetings, preparation and distribution of meeting minutes• Provide construction project management working for large provincial healthcare alliances such as:• Toronto General Hospital - Operating Suite renovations - $1,750,000• BC Cancer Agency – Vancouver, BC - Cyclotron Addition - $11,000,000• St Michael’s Hospital Toronto – Operating Suite Renovation - $1,600,000• Eastern Health, St. John’s Newfoundland - MRI Suite Renovation - $875,000• Rouge Valley Health System – Ajax Hospital - MRI Suite Renovation - $1,035,000

• Managed all capital facilities renovations, alterations and maintenance projects up to and exceeding $1M for the Grey Bruce Health Services hospitals at Southampton, Markdale, Meaford, Owen Sound, Wiarton and Lion's Head, Addictions Services Building in Owen Sound and 2 doctors’ clinics• Planned project development from conception through substantial completion• Prepared and controlled project construction budgets• Created and tracked project schedules• Administered contracts including reporting, procurement of professional engineering and architectural services, request for proposal document preparation• Managed and coordinated outside contractors and supported supervisors with in-house maintenance staff• Gathered, assessed, and entered construction data and updated facility condition assessment Ministry reporting documentation• Active member of several corporate committees including Corporate Capital Committee, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety Planning Committee and Code Red (fire emergency) Committee.• Developed training methods, including power point presentations, to provide training to facility maintenance staff• Prepared and updated policies for many engineering department procedures including mould abatement, asbestos abatement, confined space entry and infection control during construction in Healthcare Facilities• Utilized detailed knowledge of standards relating to building operations and construction in a healthcare setting including CSA, TSSA and other applicable associations for medical gases, HVAC, infection control, essential power, nurse call and fire alarm system standards.

• Led projects by co-ordinating other staff members and all sub-consultants to prepare project documents for residential, commercial and institutional building projects • Wrote and edited specifications for the standard 16 division format for tendering projects• Administered project pay requests and change orders• Prepared budget estimates• Completed construction review and report writing for several large projects concurrently• Applied knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Fire Code and municipal bylaw requirements to ensure project design compliance • Coordinated and corresponded in writing and verbally with provincial and local governing agencies required for developing and administering projects while meeting the clients timing and budget constraints.
