Balld Eagle Consulting LLC (BEC) was formed in May 2008 to provide technical consulting services to flavor ingredient, food, and beverage processors. The company founder, Donald Ball, obtained his BSChE in 1981 from the University of Toledo and has 27 years experience in various engineering positions with Procter & Gamble, International Flavors & Fragrances, PepsiCo, and Givaudan Flavors. Details of BEC’s services are as follows:Capital Project Management - Assist clients in planning expansions of their manufacturing operations. This will involve evaluating and recommending appropriate manufacturing/processing technologies, developing process flows and evaluating capacity requirements, evaluating equipment vendors and recommending equipment purchases, recommending architectural and engineering services where appropriate, obtaining and evaluating contractor bids and making a selection recommendation.Strategic Site Analysis and Capital Planning - Evaluate client’s growth plans by product area and develop long term (3-5 year) site development and capital investment plans necessary to achieve projected growth. Evaluate space requirements, material flows, equipment needs, and warehousing requirements, and traffic flows in the plant.Product Commercialization - Develop and implement manufacturing strategies for new product introduction. Services include manufacturing process development, process design, development and execution of plant testing plans, evaluation of contract manufacturing opportunities, development of product manufacturing procedures, and training plant employees. Process Optimization and Automation - Evaluate current processing techniques and recommend improvements by process modification, process automation, and equipment upgrades. Specific areas of expertise include drying technologies (vacuum drying, spray drying, and fluid bed drying), cooking technologies, and liquids dispensing and processing technologies.

Directed engineering team providing engineering services across the North American region which included 7 plants and the NA Headquarters. Accountabilities included capital planning for all sites, major project execution, process design, equipment selection, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) support.
