• Responsible for providing support to the Command Officers through managing the corporate planning function

• Provide leadership in the analysis of trends and policing issues in the development of corporate priorities, goals, and objectives;

Corporate Planning - Analysis Support

• Co-ordinate the Service wide statistics related to crime and disorder
• Develop and implement a revised format for the Chief and Senior Management to deal with the operational issues, challenges and ongoing trends within of the Service on a bi-weekly basis
• Develop a format for daily reporting of issues affected by the Toronto Police Association Job Action.
• Direct supervision of the Analysis Support personnel
• Distribution of accurate statistics at the Service level
• Oversee the creation of an accreditation system for the crime analysts within the Toronto Police Service.

Safety Department - Davenport Road

• Review and amend, as required, the Corporate Security Plan and Corporate Pandemic Plan
• Review and amend, as required, the Departmental emergency plans dealing with Security Escalation and Pandemic/Business Continuity
• Review and amend, as required, the Priority Access for Dialling (PAD) system
• Ensure the Corporate CGM Command Centre, Alternate CGM Command Centre and Mobile Command Unit are maintained. This includes keeping manuals updated and supplies current.
• Liaise with outside agencies and other departments within the Toronto Transit Commission on emergency planning issues
• Liaise with the City of Toronto - Office of Emergency Management

Central Field Command - Special Events Planning/Pay Duty Office

• Responsible for the development and implementation of a centralized special events office.
• Oversee the development of a Special Events procedure within the Toronto Police Service.
• Responsible for overseeing special event planning for police response within the City of Toronto.
• Liaise with the City of Toronto representatives, organizers and community groups on large special events.
• Review, evaluate and approve special event plans.
• Establish standardization in plan preparation for special events within the Service.

Central Field Command - Executive Support Planner

• Review, research and prepare reports on behalf of Deputy Chief or Staff Superintendent
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the Operational Budget of Command area (Central Field - $151.7 million).
• Deputy Chief’s or Staff Superintendent’s representative on both internal and external committees
• Review and comment on policy and procedure requirements
• Review and advise Deputy Chief or Staff Superintendent on policy and procedure requirements

22 Division - Uniform Platoon Operations

• Regular Staff Sergeant duties and responsibilities, with Central Lock up responsibilities
• Direct supervision and deployment of 2 supervisors, 18 police officers and civilians
• Development and implementation of special projects directed at local community issues relating to crime and disorder
• Performance evaluations and counselling of Sergeants and platoon members
• Ensure compliance of Police Service Act and the Rules and Procedures of the Service
• Creation and operation of platoon projects to deal with crime concerns within the division.

Northwest Field Command

• Preparation of briefing materials for Deputy Chief or Staff Superintendent on a variety of issues for use during external and internal meetings
• Review, research and report preparation for the Deputy Chief or Staff Superintendent on policing issues of the day.
• Unit Complaint’s Co-ordinator for North West Field Command in 1999
• Review completed complaint investigations from divisions and comment prior to Deputy Chief sign-off
• Conduct investigations, both internal and external, as directed by Deputy Chief
