Supervise contract field inspectors and contractors by planning/scheduling work loads, establishing deadlines, and establishing work objectives insuring no delinquencies. Supervise in-house maintenance construction inspection of repairs to bridges and structures. Train employees in methods of contract field inspection. Coordinate and manage the Bridge Maintenance Repair Program for the District Wide Unit. Ensure all necessary contract documents are prepared in accordance with department guidelines. Determine current and projected needs of contract resource needs and make input for the budget process. Write contract documents for bridge maintenance repairs and maintain all documentation in support of contract activities. Conduct bridge field reviews to verify corrective action quantities assigned to contract forces. Prepare/issue work orders, coordinate site visits with contractors, and check monthly and final estimates. Process and submit invoices for payment to contractors. Ensure all work is completed satisfactorily and in accordance to contract specifications.
