Cybersecurity Advisors (CSAs) offer cyber security assistance to critical infrastructure owners and operators and State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal (SLTT) officials. CSAs introduce organizations to various CISA cyber security products and services, along with other public and private resources, and act as liaisons to CISA cyber programs. CSAs can provide cyber preparedness assessments and protective resources, working group support, leadership, partnership in public-private development, and coordination and support in times of cyber threat, disruption, or attack.

For over 25 years at Maze & Associates, I played progressive directorship roles including Cybersecurity Consultant, Director of Information Systems Audit, and Director of Information Systems & Cybersecurity. Among my most notable accomplishments was introducing a ransomware risk assessment process for local governments - customizing a highly-attainable and fault-tolerant service to measure the organization's ability to counteract infection and spread, and resume critical operations. Another accomplishment was to spearhead the development of a CISO-as-a-Service, allowing local governments to address governance, risk and compliance combining flexible and affordable solutions to ensure technology is aligned with business objectives and that cyber risks are know and mitigated. I was also commissioned as the internal auditor for clients on security control self-assessments, risk assessments, and PCI compliance. Year over year, I accomplish ~100 information system audits and security reviews for a hefty number of municipal and non-profit clients. I pave the way for up-to-date audit checklists and guidelines – keeping pace with changes in requirements and risk.
