Led a 100 person (Active duty and Reserve) team along with Federal, State and Local port partners to ensure the safety and security of the Port of New York and New Jersey. Identified potential risks to the Port and employed teams to conduct Safety and Security activities to mitigate the risk to the port and to the MTS. These activities included conducting Port State Control examinations, Facilities inspections, Container inspections and Security Boarding's of High Interest Vessels in East Coast’s largest port, receiving more than 5000 foreign flag vessels annually. Completed over 1000 vessel exams and boarding's and inspecting over 500 Facilities ensuring they were in compliance with Maritime Transportation Security Act requirements. Coordinated joint boarding's between Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol, mitigating the economic impact of delaying commercial ships and facilitated the largest Multi-Agency Strike Force Operations working with 12 different Law Enforcement agencies mitigating the risk to the port through identification and search of suspicious trucks coming and going from the Ports of New York and New Jersey.

State and local Liaison officer primarily responsible for coordinating multi-agency efforts with partner agencies, including the USSS, FBI, NYPD, FDNY, NJ State Policy, US Park Police and NY Naval Militia, ensuring proper execution of planned marine events and carrying out the Coast Guard’s Ports, Waterways, and Coastal Security Mission. These missions included POTUS protection missions, protection of over 160 international heads of state during the United Nations General Assembly, the Macy’s 4th of July Celebration, Navy Fleet weeks and numerous others, requiring a Secret Level Clearance.

As a Command Duty Officer supervised a 24 hour watch team consisting of over 40 personnel ensuring coordinated tactical response within the Port of New York and New Jersey, including response within the Hudson River for all Coast Guard mission (Search and Rescue, Marine Environmental Protection, Marine Casualties, Marine Law enforcement, Port Security and Marine Inspections). As a Vessel Traffic Watch Officer, responsible for the overall operation of the Vessel Traffic Center, ensuring good order and predictability of maritime commerce throughout the port of New York and New Jersey. Coordinated multiple construction, dredging and blasting operations within the Kill Van Kull, in support of obtaining a 50 foot depth throughout the port.

Intelligence Watch Supervisor for multi-service and cryptologic tactical watch team responsible for evaluation, analysis and dissemination of all-source intelligence from Central and South America and the entire Caribbean islands. This supported DOD/CG/DEA counterdrug (CD) detection and monitoring assets operating within the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. Critical node maintaining continuous communications and information exchange with 12 analyst teams located throughout the SOUTHCOM AOR. Provided down range assets with clear tactical picture and specific guidance to guarantee mission success. Post 9-11-01 quickly shifted roles and responsibility to evaluate and disseminated terrorist related intelligence to detection and monitoring assets operating primarily within the SOUTHCOM AOR but routinely supporting beyond. As Officer of the Day, responsible for the safe operations of the cutter while underway. As the Navigation Division Officer, supervised 5 and responsible for the long and short term voyage planning to meet Coast Guard operational missions, primarily focusing on Counter Narcotic operations in the Caribbean in support of Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF) East. As Combat Information Center Officer, developed and executed detailed operational plans ensuring successful mission execution during an eighty-five day Mediterranean/Adriatic Sea Patrol with the Navy’s Sixth Fleet in support of established embargo requirements during the Kosovo Conflict. During patrol provided international training and support to numerous developing countries and was the first U.S. Military asset in the Black Sea and to visit Poti, George in over 30 years.
