About Donald Morton
Between the time when HP-UX and AIX servers ruled the landscape and the rise of cloud architecture, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Donald Morton, destined to wield the mighty Bash shell underneath a troubled gaze. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!Into the realm of Log Management, under the watchful eye of the Graylog sages, Donald practices the art of of Remote Work. Deep in his workshop, he forges automated release pipelines and configuration management playbooks.Donald hails from the lands of Sam's Club, where he studied with the Azure infrastructure engineers to learn their new cloud magic. There, the arcanists of Sam's Club Technology did craft a new public Azure cloud infrastructure and threw off the chains of bare metal servers. During the time of Anthill Pro and Teamforge, he trained under the great build masters, who taught him the deep secrets of systems that should not be. He stood up Jenkins and Looper, and declared that developers should have the freedom to craft their build workflow as they see fit. And he saw that it was good. Donald also mastered the legacy Remedy system, supporting the ticketing systems and the ubiquitous Change Management form. If these systems were down for even a few seconds, Donald would be tossed into a war room and told to make it better. It was in these fires that he learned to make the fabled "stable architecture" and avoid unnecessary outages. He attended the University of Arkansas in the land of Fayetteville. There, he trained under the great scholars and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Anthropology. While he does not use the minor in his everyday work, it is said he took those classes anyway because he thinks evolution is cool. Donald lives in Bentonville, AR, just a few minutes away from DGTC. He enjoys playing video games, bicycling, and Dungeons and Dragons.
Listed skills include Unix, Programming, Java, Linux, and 43 others.
