I joined the Army at 18 in 1993 and worked as a military police officer until 2002 and decided to leave the military. As an MP I conducted regular patrols stateside, deployed to Iraq conducted customs inspections and convoy security and also narcotics investigations. I joined the Effingham County Sheriff's Office in 2002 and was taken from patrol and placed in the drug unit in late 2002 until I was reactivated and sent to Iraq in 2003 until the end of 2004. I came back and was promoted to Corporal and Sergeant over the drug unit and left the Sheriff's Office in 2005 due to lack of pay raises and benefits. In 2006 the Sheriff contacted me and asked me to come back as the Chief Investigator over the General Crimes Division. I accepted the offer and came back to the Sheriff's Office in 2007 and stayed there until October of 2017 when I decided to retire and pursue other opportunities outside of law enforcement.I am a criminal investigator, background investigator, internal affairs investigator, leader, manager, SWAT certified and underwater search and rescue certified.I currently work as a Regional Operations Manager for Sunstates Security,
