About Don Fitz-Roy
As an experienced educator with a background in technology, project-based learning, gifted education, and curriculum development, I have always enjoyed working with students. I believe that with proper curricular support, technology has the potential to engender higher levels of student engagement, provide access to real-world toolkits and data, and serve as an expressive medium to improve student communications skills and harness creativity. Over the past several years I have embraced design thinking, allowing students to develop growth mindsets and engage in open-ended problem solving activities rooted in a scaffolded approach that encourages self-documentation and entrepreneurial spirit. I greatly value being a member of the greater school community and enjoy promoting social thinking skills as a middle school advisor, as well as organizing and participating in activities such as FLL Robotics, our school's yearly film festival, "Maker Mondays", and Hour of Code initiatives.
