I have over 30 years experience designing and installing new and renovation landscapes, using predominantly native plants and trees. I enjoy creating special getaways at residential and commercial properties....healing gardens to be enjoyed at home or while at work. Even tiny backyards can be made into an oasis to enjoy every day. I had been a grower of over 300 varieties of herbs, and native plants; and, owned a small garden center....always sustainable, never using dangerous chemicals. I am considering reintroducing growing to my business because I enjoy growing; and, because I would have better control over the quality and authenticity of the plant materials for my projects. I bring to designing and installing landscapes my lifetime of experiences living with and working with nature. I grew up in the northern Allegheny and Appalachian mountains of Pennsylvania, where m y family was part of that region for generations. I have always considered myself blessed to have been raised by parents and grandparents who lived close to nature. We grew and raised most of our food. From the family homestead the view is forests and mountains for many miles. The air is fresh. As a child and teen here was swimming and fishing in fresh mountain streams; and, we drank water coming out of the side of the mountain where we lived! I also bring to my creating of therapeutic gardens my experiences from decades I have been a therapist, and in ministry to some of the most hurting folks. I continue with this part time; and, I have also been developing a model for small homes that are affordable....I do this in response to the housing shortage and homelessness in America.
