I am a hard-working, dedicated and passionate certified occupational therapy assistant. I am a licensed therapist certified in lymphedema/wound care. I work at an outpatient clinic specializing in lymphedema related issues. For the past 11+ years I have the privilege of working with some of the most devoted, compassionate and knowledgeable therapists. I love a good challenge and have become accustomed to thinking outside the box. Before becoming a COTA I worked as a floral designer for 23 years and managed a flower shop for 4 of those years. I have also been a merchandiser for 2 years. I was promoted to Lead Team Leader after 2 years. During the next 3 years I assisted the District Manager in running the day to day operations of our district. Our district had 60+ merchandisers in 13 states in the NE. My duties entailed; hiring, scheduling, disciplining, training, auditing teams, running and organizing projects, assisted payroll with issues, and assisted my district manager in any capacity she deemed necessary. I have also merchandised for Johnson and Johnson for Walmart stores in SE Georgia. I checked inventory, made sure product was stocked and priced correctly. I would also cut in new items and dispose of out of date and discontinued items. I would also set up promotional displays when needed. While each job was completely different, I approached each of them with 100% of my effort, loyalty, and dedication. While I have reinvented myself several times, I know that being an occupational therapy assistant is what I was meant to be. My priorities in life are God, family and friends, and career. I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, photography, and writing. I have recently taken on a task of learning how to paint with watercolors. This should be interesting since I struggle with painting a wall and drawing a stick figure. As I said before I do love a good challenge.
