About Donna Schultz
I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, A Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Physically or Otherwise Health Impairments, and a ZA in Early Childhood Education. I currently hold a Michigan Professional Education Certificate and 19 years of direct instructional experience.Being a highly adaptable and versatile educator, I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach a diverse group of children, including those with physical impairments, speech impairments, non-verbal learners, visual impairments, cognitive delays, sensory and physical challenges as well as many active groups of kindergarteners. These experiences have helped me blossom into a well rounded and compassionate individual, who takes each student’s unique goals, needs, and interests into account, and creates effective lesson plans and activities to accommodate them. While managing the classroom, I also coordinate para professionals to assist in leading small group activities, following medical procedures, potty training and adaptations for students daily needs.My greatest capability is facilitating all styles of learners. I develop multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic leaners. I also incorporate learning centers, various technology, manipulatives, group work and thematic units to teach new concepts and materials. Each child receives praise and encouragement to ensure that they remain motivated to excel at small individualized tasks. I believe in inclusion and have successfully mainstreamed students with physical impairments and Autism in the general education setting.
