Ports are bringing their complex environment up to date with a new central operating system application, which will lie at the heart of a multi-interface, multi-functional business. The automation project goal is to deliver an agreed set of business critical automated functional tests concentrating on the Navis N4 and XPS applications which manage the movement of containers in, out and around the Port. N4 is currently used at over 100 Ports worldwide.The deliverables will be a suite of flexible, end-to-end test scenarios, with an emphasis on robust easily maintainable code.

- Assist the Manager: Testing in creation and promotion of an automation strategy and process framework within Telstraclear- Creation and maintenance of automation scripts through the use of available toolsets - Mentor and develop IT&P Test and Development resource in the use of the automation - Management reporting on progress of automation scripting- Ensure Manager Testing and/or Test Lead is kept informed of issues, problems and threats to maintaining agreed timetable for testing

Areas of Responsibility:Take lead role in the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts within the automation application (Quick Test Professional) using VB scripting languageAnalysis business requirements and provide estimates with regard to automation to Project ManagersCreate and maintain requirements, business components, test plans and test sets within Quality Center (test management tool)Assist internal IS teams in the development and maintenance of manual test plans for validation and verification of software releasesCreate, maintain and document processes in relation to automation. Identify and communicate a automation test strategy/vision that suits the TWL environment Management of the test environment, including co-ordination of regular data refreshes and implementation of a control policy around the environmentManagement and administration of the automated test tools, namely QC and QTP (including upgrades/patches/hot fixes/adding and removing users).Training and consultation to internal IS teams of the automated test tools and VB scripting languageManagement reporting on progress of automation across IS department

Areas of Responsibility:IT Support for customers using SQL Server and MSAccess databases. Use of two call logging systems; SPRBase and Footprints, to record and track status of reported SPRs (System Performance Reports) and test fixes, and to ensure sign off of SPRs before delivery to customers.Creation, maintenance, execution and analysis of Rational Robot automated scripts for GUI Shower Unit/Storefront Entrance applications.Creation, maintenance, execution and analysis of TestComplete 5.4 automated scripts for GUI Shower Unit/Storefront Entrance applications.Creation, maintenance, execution and analysis of Microsoft Visual Studio Visual Test automated scripts, for the purposes of performance testing to ensure unacceptable slowdowns do not occur in each application.Maintenance of test case spreadsheets to ensure correct baselines are used.Testing of licensing website used to register every instance of abovementioned Shower applications.Use of FTP client to upload and download MSAccess and SQL databases to and from customers.Restoring databases, running units tests (using NUnit) on same and running upgrade scripts where necessary.Liaising with programmers and database administrator regarding the environments and databases required for testing. I was brought into this position to create a QA department at Fujitsu for the purpose of meeting SLAs required for new applications and patches written by the development and support team. My team consisted of myself and one other whom I supervised.Areas of Responsibility:Documentation of all QA procedures.Testing and quality assuring all patches and change requests to acceptable service levels and releasing the same to customers for installation and beta testing.Liaising with programmers re the environments and databases required for project and patch testing, to ensure compatibility for relevant projects.
