Donna Valentine is a respected medical practitioner who has dedicated her career as a Physician Assistant to caring for cancer patients. She has worked in comprehensive breast cancer treatment for more than twenty years, caring for hundreds of patients, as well as their families and loved ones.While training at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, she discovered her passion and gifts for helping patients navigate their breast cancer diagnosis and care. Donna began as a surgical PA assisting breast surgeons and plastic surgeons. She then spent over a decade in a formal medical oncology setting, educating and assisting patients through chemotherapy and other treatments. During this period, Donna’s older sister was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and survived three years. This difficult time helped Donna truly understand the impact that a cancer diagnosis has on individuals and their loved ones, both during and after treatment. The experience spurred her to move beyond oncology for a time during her career to a family practice specializing in breast cancer survivorship. Donna's passion lies in seeing her patients recover fully, embrace their “new” lives after breast cancer, and become healthier, happier, more balanced people because of their journey.
