Working with youth that have been placed in a residential care unit by child protection. The position involved taking on a therapeutic care role for 4 children under the age of 13. All 4 children attended school and as part of the role staff were required to maintain a daily routine and family environment for the young people. Taking them to and from school, appointments and other activities. Maintaining a safe and happy environment for the young people. Ensuring that the administration side of the role was done on a daily basis and upholding the legal requirements for working with young people in care.

Managing a case load of up to 25-30 clients, referred to the service by centrelink, family and friends or self referral. The service provided an ongoing support for young people aged 12-19 that were at risk of leaving school or had already left school early. The support provided was to assist the young people in education and employment opportunities. The main goal was to help youth with choosing a good direction for their future by discussing other educational resources to help with employment, as many of them had left school early. The role had a very high level of case management and I was required to complete daily administration of the cases and ensure I was managing each case under strict time management and quality.
